The two books offered as a $35 option can be found for a similar price on amazon.com. They are excellent books
but weigh in at 600 and 700 pages! We recommend trying the program by itself first unless you are an avid reader.

1. Relearning to See, by Thomas Quackenbush is available from amazon.com
2. Better Eyesight, the Complete Magazines of William H Bates, MD (edited by Quackenbush) also at amazon.com
3. Other downloadable books are available free from http://central-fixation.com and/or Googlebooks free downloads

A breakthrough in Natural Vision Improvement audio instruction.
Most other available programs concentrate on "eye exercises", which often fail in the essential goal of visual ease essential for improvement. This program helps you absorb subtleties of the Bates Method that are hard to learn anywhere else. For Nearsighted, Farsighted, Astigmatism, Presbyopia (reading glasses) and many other conditions.

Guidelines for Hastening Your Progress:

1. Treat Yourself to a Deep Experience.
You deserve relaxing time away from multi-tasking. Focus fully on letting go of strain so your vision can improve more quickly.

2. Participate Fully in All Six CD’s.
The CD’s are carefully arranged to take you experientially into how to let go of your visual strain, and how to recover vibrant clear sight. Go at any pace you enjoy.

3. Enjoy a Guided Activity Each Day.
This program includes fifteen “guided” activities. Choose one each day to take you deeper into the secrets of regaining your vision naturally!

4. Take Off Your Glasses.
Time without glasses multiplies your progress. Next best is spending time wearing reduced prescriptions glasses. The blur may feel awkward at first, but people who succeed come to love their natural sight and tend to dislike the strain of their full strength glasses. Remember, you must always be safe and legal for driving!

5. Relax, Move, and Centralize.
Explore the basics of natural vision improvement throughout your day. Your posture and mental clarity will also improve!

6. Trust in Your Vision.
As you regain trust in your vision, it will be there for you. Confirm your progress with visual benchmarks!

I have listened to all of the CD's and practiced some of the techniques you describe and after 3 weeks discovered that my eyesight has improved … I'm thrilled!

     – Carol Pretty, Alberta, Canada

I enjoy and value your CD set. The content is intriguing and encouraging and, as you suggest, shares much in common with Yoga and meditation, which I practice. Your presentation style is clear, affirming, and effective. Thank you!

     – Glen Fielding, Salem, Oregon

Greg Marsh has a VERY good way of explaining the Bates Method, and the short tracks are easy to use. I've been introduced to this method in at least four different formats – group seminar, private lessons, another taped program, and reading a book - in the past, and never got out of it what Greg is presenting.

The information is cumulative, so you don't have to spend a lot of time at any one sitting, and the benefits range from clearer vision to relaxed neck, shoulder, back muscles and who knows what else?  :-)

     – Betty Lewis, Milford, New Hampshire

Habit Change Timer

Auto Repeating Timer
Simple & Powerful Way to Change Your Vision Habits

Great help for changing vision (and other) habits. It’s easy to “start” to change a habit, but hard to remember to continue. I often used a regular timer to help me stay on track, but always longed for a repeating timer that would automatically repeat all day long. I looked at the classic “Motive-Aider” (TM) repeating timer, but resisted its $60 price. I studied many timers. Most either lacked an auto-repeat timer feature, or if they did have auto-repeat they were fragile or way too complicated.

What happened to the InvisibleClock timer? I found the Invisible Clock (TM) timer in 2008 and liked it so much we started offering it here on our website. It is still a great timer, and at $40 it has many more features, even simultaneous ones! We no longer carry it but you can still find it at InvisibleClock.com.

We found a simpler, cheaper timer. A repeating timer is one of the simplest and best reminders to relax or breathe or sketch or whatever vision habit you are trying to befriend. At $19.95, this one is sturdy and simple. It has a lot fewer features than the Invisible Clock timer, but it has all the repeating timer features I want. It either vibrates or beeps. (High or low beep volume) It’s nice sometimes to use the optional 2-stage intervals. The timer is sturdy, and since it’s built for workouts it has a strong spring-clip if you want to attach it to clothing, a purse, or somewhere near your computer.

This timer will become your best friend for changing your vision habits, and other habits too!

Example – Computer Use: Set a 20 minute repeat cycle with a soft beep or vibration. When it goes off, do one relaxed breath and drop your shoulders. Or use the 2-stage timer to breathe for 60 seconds every 20 minutes. Your eyes and your brain will feel a lot better at the end of the day!

Keep it Simple: Respond to the timer EVERY time it goes off, otherwise you’ll stop noticing the signal. If you want a break, just move the thumb switch to the “0″ setting”. The timer will stop alerting you until you move the thumb switch back to “Vibr” or “Beep”.
Alarm Options: Set a high or low volume beep, or vibration, or use a beep plus a high or low vibration. (I miss the super-low beep setting of the Invisible Clock, but I like this model’s stronger vibration. If you really need a very-low volume beep, try putting it in a sock!)
Timer Features:
  • Choose Beep, Vibration, or Both – the beep duration can be 1, 5, or 10 seconds, with low or high volume option.
  • 1 or 2-Stage Timer Intervals - set for one time interval of up to 99 minutes, add a second time interval if desired. These will alternate if you use repeating alarm mode.
  • Manual Timer Option – set for one time interval or two. Manual single alarm or auto-repeat. Repeat indefinitely until you stop it, or repeat a set number of times up to 99.
  • Indefinite Repeating Timer – will keep repeating either 1 or 2 time intervals, until you stop it.
  • Preset Repeating Alarm – repeat 1 or 2 time intervals up to 99 times, then it shuts off.
  • Meeting Timer Suggestion – Use 2-stage timer with manual option. Set for silent vibration alarm at the halfway point, 2nd stage alarm at five minutes before time’s up.
  • Stopwatch – time an event up to 99:99:99 (99 minutes, seconds, hundredths.
  • Uses one AAA battery – lasts a long time unless you use frequent vibrate settings. Even then, battery is easy to change.
  • Water & Shock Resistant – it was designed for workout and sports applications
  • Small Size – 5/8″ x 1-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ (plus belt clip adds about 1/4″ to thickness)
  • Secure belt clip - designed for timing of workouts, holds tight.

Pinhole Glasses

Any second pair only $17.95 + no additional shipping

Notes from Greg: (anecdotal observations, not medical advice!)

  • Don’t drive with pinholes, or do other things that require good peripheral vision for safety!
  • Read the information below and search the web for info about pinholes, but eventually just try them and “see” for yourself if you like them. If you have a very mild prescription, you may not want to bother with pinholes. The single most popular use of pinholes is for watching TV and movies. From there, explore reading, computer, walking (not in traffic), and other activities. Most people wear them a few minutes to a few hours per day. They take some getting used to, but point you toward more “centralized” vision in the process. (A key point of the Bates Method)
  • The aviator style pinholes are very well made and have emedded wires in the ear pieces to bend to a perfect fit. The smaller holes tend to appeal to more people. It’s not an exact science, but the smaller holes correct up to about 6 diopters. Above that starts to get blurry, but even people with very high prescriptions often like the pinholes a lot to see somewhat clearer without their glasses.
  • The wrap-around pinholes’ are smaller and more stylish. They have larger holes which provide less correction for distance, but can be really great for work on a computer if your prescription is “medium” or less, because the larger holes make it easier to follow the mouse cursor. They have no wires in the ear pieces but have a nice springy fit. A lot of people like them for reading, even including higher nearsighted people. With the large holes, they don’t require as much background light.
  • Consider getting both pairs, to give yourself every option to spend some time without regular glasses. We offer these pinholes because a lot of people have trouble figuring out which ones to get. For some reason many sellers have gone to disappointing big holes with the aviator style frame (the $10 pairs on ebay have big holes and no wires to adjust fit, very cheaply made). Most people who try both prefer the smaller holes, at least with the aviator style. But for a few reasons, quite a lot of people do like the wrap-arounds with the bigger holes. They have a pleasing fit and feel. and they are definitely cooler looking. They way they catch the light makes them look a lot more like sunglasses, where the aviator style looks like the human fly.

    I hope that’s helpful! – gm

How they work

  • Pinhole Glasses are made with black plastic lenses with tiny holes (pinholes).
  • The placement and size of the holes turn blurry images into focused ones for most people, whether nearsighted, farsighted, presbyopic (middle aged vision), or astigmatic.
  • Blurry vision is caused by light rays landing in front of or behind the retina.
  • Pinhole Glasses correct blurry vision by directing light rays onto the retina at the back of the eye without the use of a lens.
  • Pinhole Glasses may reduce eye strain, relax your eye muscles, and help your mind break the habit of strain needed to see clearly through prescription glasses.

Will they work for me?

  • Almost anyone who has blurry vision can see more clearly with Pinhole Glasses.
  • They work for most people who are nearsighted, farsighted, presbyopic, and for some people with astigmatism or cataracts.
  • They cannot fully sharpen your vision if your correction is above about 6 diopters, but they still may be useful for other tasks.
  • They are very helpful for cataracts to avoid annoying reflections from the sun.
  • Pinhole Glasses are great to use while on the computer and reading, and for seeing the blackboard, TV and movies.
  • Pinhole Glasses must not be used while driving due to the reduced peripheral vision.

Do I need the larger or smaller holes?

  • Most people tend to like the smaller holes because they give better correction.
  • If you have fairly mild nearsightedness or farsightedness or low strength reading glasses, you may prefer the wrap around tortoise shell glasses with the larger holes that are spaced farther apart.
  • We’ve also found that many nearsighted people find the larger holes ideal for computer work – the larger and more frequent holes make it easier to see the whole screen and track movement of the cursor with the mouse.
  • If in doubt you may want to go with the smaller holes or get both. You may find you use each of them for different purposes.

Are the holes annoying?

  • After a short adjustment period most people no longer notice the holes.
  • The pinholes support good vision habits because they require you to move and practice “centralized” vision.

Why should I choose these Pinhole Glasses?

Our Black & Blue Pinhole Glasses are adjustable, many other brands are not. That means you can bend the earpieces to adjust them for a snug fit.
NOTE: The wrap style pinhole glasses do NOT have adjustable ear pieces, but have a springy fit that fits any face.

Better Eyesight Now – The Basics

Better Eyesight Now – The Basics
Home Study Program

Presented by Greg Marsh, CNVT

A Note to Seekers of Clearer Eyesight:

When I first started teaching Natural Vision Improvement, I believed it was essential for every person to fully understand subtleties of the Bates Method such as centralizing and the small swing.

But I've come to realize that a shorter program may be more helpful for many people, at least to get started. For example:

  • Persons with very strong glasses often have a higher need for some instant success, to avoid discouragement.
  • Persons with mild vision problems may be able to fully get out of glasses without the subtleties of the longer program.
  • Anyone who wants to find out if they can really improve their vision before committing more time and expense.

The"Basics" program is upbeat, encouraging, and helpful in various ways to feel how to let go of the strain in your eyes, right away. I still recommend the complete "Reclaim Your Eyesight Naturally" program for a self-starter who likes to dive in deeply right away. And, most people with strong glasses will eventually want the additional help of the complete program. But smile, and be aware if you have a "nearsighted" tendency to always have more stuff on your plate than you find time to do. Consider starting with a smaller bite that you can savor with ease.

Remember, the objective is to stop "trying" to see. Not in a week or a month, but right now. I think the new "Basics" program will help a lot of people make that shift more quickly, and get off on the right foot.

Click for tips to help you choose the right program

If you have my 6-CD program and feel you need a fresh perspective, the new "Basics" program can help get you back on track. We are offering a special price to anyone who bought the "Reclaim Your Eyesight Naturally" program from us since its launch in summer 2008. See the web page for details.

Please contact us if you have questions, and best wishes with Natural Vision Improvement however you may proceed.

Sincerely,
Greg Marsh, CNVT, CHt

Better Eyesight Now – the Basics

Greg Marsh's varied background – engineering, martial arts, meditation,
and study of many natural health approaches – combined with his
encouraging and fun presentation style will help you absorb essential
and typically overlooked subtleties of the powerful Bates Method.

What You Will Learn:

CD#1 – SEEING WITH EASE (Also refer to the guidebook)
1. How to Use this Program (4:21) To succeed, you must approach this program differently than your normal way of doing things. Improving your eyesight naturally is very much like meditation or yoga; it probably won't work if you treat it as another project in your busy routine.
2. The Easy Way to Clarity (15:13) Most people assume their eyes are lazy, in need of eye exercises to make them work harder. This is backwards. Eyesight is a miracle that functions best with relaxation, ease, and a distinct imagination. This anecdotal track will help you start to "feel" this easier way of seeing.
3. The Amazing Bates Method (5:50) Dr. William H Bates discovered ingenious ways to naturally improve eyesight a hundred years ago. This track will help you get on his wavelength and understand why your eyesight improves as quickly as you rediscover natural ease in seeing.
4. Release Your Stuck Vision (11:14)

Most people are initially unaware they hold strain in their eyes, especially if they have a high prescription. This track helps you discover and let go of visual strain for yourself.

5. Visual Awareness (3:24) Becoming more visually aware of your world helps to reactivate your eyes and bring them more life force. Let visual awareness help you restore relaxed clear eyesight.
6. Movement is Essential (4:13) This track will help you prove to yourself that natural, effortless movement of your eyes, your gaze, your attention, your mind… will always result in a spontaneous burst of clearer vision.
7. Swing Your World (12:10) The Bates technique called "the swing" is very childlike, so of course most adults tend to do it in a way that doesn't help very much. This track helps you discover the ease and joy of "swinging" your vision.
8. Relaxing Energy of Your Palms (7:19) The "Palming" technique is great to do after proper swinging, so you feel it rather than think about it! If you practice meditation, Reiki, or Chi Gong, notice how
9. Keep Your Attention Moving (5:48) As you improve your eyesight you'll notice a new sense of ease spreading to other aspects of your life.
10. Easing Out of Glasses (4:27) Your glasses are keeping the strain intact, according to the Bates Method. You will understand and feel by now why this is true. Here are some ideas for easing out of glasses safely, legally (for driving), and with the help of your optometrist.
11. Other Resources (1:06) Keep it simple, don't be an information junkie – it may thwart your progress if you gridlock your vision with too many vision theories and techniques at once! But here are some next steps to consider when you are ready.
TOTAL CD#1 (1hr:15min) Listen to CD#1 once per week to help you keep a fresh, adventurous, and fruitful approach for your vision improvement program.
CD#2 – DAILY VISION ACTIVATORS (Also refer to the guidebook)
1. Suggestions for Daily Practice (4:05) Do what you have time for and what feels enjoyable. Any one or two or more of the tracks will help. Indeed, more time may be better, but the key is to keep recalibrating your vision to be relaxed and vibrant – each day, and through the day.
2. Setting Intention (2:16) An ounce of careful thought about what you want is more valuable than a ton of effort.
3. Eye Chart for Reference (1:14) This eye chart is in alphabetic order! "Testing" the eyes makes many persons anxious, and their sight may get worse from the strain. Use this eye chart to encourage yourself when you see more, and to tease your vision into clarity.
4. Long Swing (7:54) Your whole body supports your vision. This track will help you release your spine, neck, and shoulders, so your vision can easily let go and move. Feel the delightful illusion of "oppositional movement".
5. Eye Chart, Part 2 (1:43) You will be amazed at how quickly your eyes can see and recognize a new row, even if just for a moment at first.
6. Palming (9:24) Dissolving tight eye muscles is unbelievably relaxing throughout your whole being. The words and suggestions to relax will help you let go. It's relaxing like meditation, or maybe even like a vacation!
7. Sketching and Shifting (7:12) This is the opposite of staring. Wake up your curiosity about your visual world and take it into your day. Discover that staring is exhausting, sketching and shifting are relaxing. Even at your computer!
8. Vibrations in Your Eyes (2:36) Pretend at first, until your really can feel and evoke the natural vibrations in your eyes. These "saccadic" vibrations are essential to clear sight, and the habit of staring has stifles them. Let them wake up!
9. Medium Swing, Optional Sunning (4:08) Your vision is responding more and more to the long swing. Gradually learn to evoke as much relaxation with a smaller movement. Try adding "closed eye sunning", another amazingly simple technique to relax and heal your eyes.
10. Short Swing (4:58) Go into this one slowly. It may feel elusive at first. As your vision improves you will be able to "swing" letters on the eyechart, your computer, and everything else you see. As you befriend this technique it becomes a reliable friend to sharpen your vision. It dissolves negative thoughts just as fast, because the mind has to "let go".
11. Into the Day (4:17) Make imagination a key ally. See yourself remembering to breathe, relax your shoulders, sketch and shift, and notice the amazing world our there, all day long.
12. Guided Relaxation (11:50) Become quickly, deeply relaxed with this progressive relaxation track. Just listen and follow. It's fine if you fall asleep. Includes relaxing music in the background. These last two tracks are great to fall asleep with.
13. Affirmations (8:26) Now in this relaxed and receptive state of mind, absorb these affirmations for relaxed clear sight. Even if you sleep through it, you'll find your vision is more relaxed tomorrow. And you feel less stressed. Includes relaxing music in the background.
TOTAL CD#2 (1hr:12min) For best results do at least one vision activator each day to remind your vision of natural relaxed vision habits. Do up to 1/2 hour, or longer for a strong prescription or for faster results. Listen to the final two tracks as you drift off to sleep, or during a break in your daily routine.

Natural vision improvement is not a medical treatment. It is more like meditation and yoga. Imagine going through your day seeing clearly without glasses or surgery. Most people succeed best with a mix of explanation, activities, guided visualization, and other techniques to help them absorb natural vision principles.

The common presumption that your eyes have gotten lazy is backwards. The natural vision approach says that your sight is blurry because your eyes have been straining and working too hard. Your vision will improve as you rediscover natural ease in seeing.

The pioneer of natural vision improvement methods was Ophthalmologist William H. Bates. This observant doctor noticed that people with poor vision stare and strain to see everything at once. He found people with perfect sight shift their attention many times every minute, all day long. All that shifting sounds like a lot of work, but brain science tells us the mind needs constant movement to relax and do its job.

About Greg Marsh, Natural Vision Teacher/Natural Vision Coach

Greg Marsh graduated from college as a chemical engineer. Extremely nearsighted, he started learning the Bates Method of eyesight improvement through books and made a small improvement. But he found it very hard to absorb the necessary understanding from books. Greg developed a deep interest in many modes of natural healing, and sought out Natural Vision Teachers in the US. He later became a certified teacher himself.

Greg Marsh also studied and taught martial art and meditation for 25 years, which helps him to be creative at teaching subtle principles. His teaching approach is encouraging and sincere, yet playful. As a Certified Natural Vision Teacher Greg has helped thousands of people improve their eyesight, either directly or through his CD programs.

Mental and Emotional Factors in Vision

The limiting factor of blurry eyesight is almost always in the mind, not the eyes! People with multiple personalities demonstrate how quickly the eyes can see when the mind is ready. One personality may require strong glasses while another has no need for glasses. Each personality sees differently because it has different patterns of strain and emotions.

Greg Marsh uses breathing techniques, imagination, and guided visualizations to help you dissolve emotional “tight spots” that hold back your vision.

Many people find the side benefits of vision improvement even more exciting than clearer eyesight. Optometrist Ray Gottleib has been a leading advocate of the Bates Method and natural vision improvement for over thirty years. For himself and his clients he says the visual changes “provide tremendous growth and self knowledge.”

How is this Different from “Eye Exercises”?

You can find dozens of books in English about the Bates Method and natural vision improvement. A few are written by optometrists. Most are written by natural vision teachers. On the internet you can also find an abundance of “eye exercise programs.” This task-oriented approach works for some, but it fails to convey subtleties that most people need to restore faith in their vision. Many people who have tried many programs to improve their sight found their first real progress with Greg Marsh’s programs.

Getting Out of Glasses and Contacts

According to Dr. Bates, your eye muscles have moderate strain if you have a low prescription, and quite a lot of strain if you have a high prescription. The glasses are like a fence that holds in the strain. So you want to take them off whenever it is feasible and safe, to give them space to relax. If you have a high prescription you may want to keep your glasses handy at the workshop, but wear them as little as possible. You will discover you see more than you realized! If your glasses are not very strong you’ll do fine without them. Do what feels interesting and comfortable.

Of course you must wear glasses if you need them to be safe and legal for driving, and you should have regular eye exams. If you enjoy taking charge of your health, you may find natural vision improvement to be a rewarding journey beyond the standard realm of glasses, contacts, and laser surgery.
